Sound Design

After creating the soundtrack I still had all the sound design to do for the final piece. on reflection i spent way too long on the sound track and felt like i had to rush this part of the project.

The First part of the design was using the technique called sampling, using the transcript from earlier i took key sentence which would help set up the narrative. My favourite part of this track is when Tristan talks about Liverpool then the beat drops into the 1/16 time signature( about 50 seconds in). For the start of the beat i added a 7 Band EQ to make the music sound like it was getting played through a wall and faded the the sound track in.

I then went through the whole sound track and added the sound of a spray can to where someone was spray painting. this was very very difficult to line up as found it hard to judge where and when to stop and start the sound of the spray can.

Skating has become synonymous with graffiti and pretty much go hand in hand with each other. i added a staking atmosphere which Alex got at the skate park. I felt it was important to have more then just the sound track and decided to add different layers of atmosphere and to create a more richer sound design.

On reflection i should have spent less tim eon the sound track and more time on the actual sound design.
