Bunny and the Bull

B
unny and the Bull

Bunny and the bull is a suureal road trip movie that takes part in a north London flat. Directed by Paul King it follows the character Stephen (Edward Hogg) is a young and shy man suffering from agoraphobia, though this is a relatively recent development, and as he ponders the dim prospect of going out for food, he recalls a vacation in Europe with his former best friend Bunny.  Bunny and the Bull is very much a dark comedy, and is a nice twist from conventional films that tack this subject.

The set design is very important in this film, the scenes where we see Stephan in his house really help tell a lot about his personality but also the get a sense of effect this phobia can have on a person the stacks of books and frozen food.

The use of close ups and wide angles you really get a sense of claustrophobia and the torment that this phobia has had. After Stephan has realised that he doesn’t have any food, we see him attempt to go outside for the first time. I really like the quick shots and close up, you can really feel the pain of this guy. When suffering from agoraphobia panic attacks can be a side affect Paul king has really captured this.

I really like the ending shot as he we Stephan step out of this house, although I don’t like the idea od showing our character leaving the room I like the idea of the character showing progression and think the shoe is a great physically representation
