Going into the meeting I was feeling a little nervous, as I
didn’t quite know what to expect, as I had never spoken to him. We met Jonathan
at the university café at 1.00. We started off by discussing our job roles and
where the idea original came from. He seemed to really like the idea and
started to talk about his own experience with agoraphobia and panic attacks.
After having a look through the scrip he asked about the
ukulele and key asking why they where significant. I told him that the research
I did that people who suffer from agoraphobia get quite obsessive about items,
and that certain item trigger memories, the key is the way he connects outside
while the ukulele is quite a personal object that he received when he was
younger and didn’t use to have this fear of the outside. I was really happy that he asked about these
two objects as they a key motifs and it felt that he really understood the
scrip.
He then talked about the panic attack scene and relating it his
own experiences, he mentioned that when he suffered from panic it attacks that
he would try and get away from the outside world hiding under his covers. Me thought
the wardrobe was a unique way of showing this.
It was quite strange that he didn’t really have any
questions or concerns, which was good but it just left us with a couple of
awkward pauses. He did ask about the costume which was good as it lead in a
good discussion about props and what he could get hold off. He also mentioned
about using his camera and lens, which was great as he owns a cannon 5D.
Overall the meeting went really well, Jonathan seemed to
really like the scrip and look quite enthusiastic about filming.
